Disturbing The Peace In Moapa = Citation
On Saturday, December 22, 2007 Metro responded to a disturbance in Moapa regarding loud music. Upon arrival Metro came in contact with 58 year old Harold Giron who was cited for Disturbing the Peace-Disorderly Conduct. Giron will appear in the Moapa Justice Court at a later date.
Drunk Driver Stopped In Overton
On Tuesday, January 1, 2008 Metro conducted a routine traffic stop after observing a vehicle driving erratically on State Road 169 in Overton. Upon contact with the driver, field sobriety tests were administered and failed. Troy Leavitt, age 41 was subsequently charged with DUI-Alcohol and will appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court to face his charge.
Multiple Charges After Hit & Run
On Thursday, January 3, 2008 Officers responded to Moapa after a witness observed a suspect flee the scene of a one car accident which caused property damage. The suspects had fled the scene to the passengers residence where they hid the vehicle, they proceeded to leave the residence in another vehicle. Metro then came in contact with the suspects at which time the original driver, 19 year old Jose Rodriguez Gomez was cited for Immediate Report of Accident, No Proof of Insurance, Duty to Stop, Duty to Give Information and Render Aid, and Obstructing a Police Officer. Gomez will appear in the Moapa Justice Court on all charges.
