The Moapa Valley Community Education Advisory Board will meet on Thursday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Old Logandale School building.
During the meeting, the board will discuss an upcoming school bond request and what position the board should articulate regarding the request.
The board will hear a presentation by State Senator Warren Hardy who will be in attendance at the meeting. Hardy will address the governor’s proposed budget cuts and how it might affect the state’s Empowerment programs. Hardy will discuss concerns regarding CCSD’s position on Empowerment for Moapa Valley and will contrast that with the State Senate’s perspective on Empowerment and what its intent was for the program. The board will then discuss strategies for the next State Legislative session with regard to empowerment and other educational matters.
