With the beginning of the New Year, Don Luigi’s Pizza has a new line of offering for the community. With their first year in business behind them, Don Luigi’s has expanded their menu making some of their products bigger and some of their products lighter.
For those in need of more of the product that Don Luigi’s does best, pizza, the Don has the, now famous, mammoth 24-inch pizza.

For those wishing to turn over a new leaf this New Year and go a bit easy on the pizza, they have a new selection of sandwiches that you can order for delivery or pick up at the store.
Thirteen months ago, Don Maher with Luis and Audra Espinosa went into the pizza business in Moapa Valley. They opened their shop in downtown Overton.
“It has been a good year,” Audra Espinosa said. “It has been difficult at times figuring out some of the kinks of the business but we have focused on giving our customers the best service we can and, as a result, I think we’ve had a successful first year.”
Mid-way through their first year, they began to think about expanding their offering to sandwiches. As the New Year approached with health resolutions and the start of Moapa Valley’s version of the Biggest Loser contest Luis and Audra felt that would be the best time to unveil the new line of healthy sandwiches.
“Everyone loves pizza,” Audra said, “but pizza all the time is not the best thing for you. We wanted to be able to offer people in the Valley something else that they could order on a busy night for their family that was a healthy option.”
Reworking the kitchen was not expensive or time consuming for Don Luigi’s. It was just a matter of moving things around a bit to make space for a station to build the sandwiches.
As far as choices of sandwiches the new menu has all the standard favorites ham and cheese, roast beef, turkey, and two kinds of club sandwiches; the DL club is definitely one to try. The toppings are also varied with the standard lettuce, tomatoes, and onions as well as the spicing things up with jalapenos if that is how you lean.
“Kaitlyn Kohl helped us a lot getting the sandwiches up and going,” Audra said. “She worked in a sandwich shop before and was helpful in showing us how to make a good sandwich.”
Audra Espinosa continually said that the secret of Don Luigi’s success in its first year of business was the dedication to customer service. Audra previously worked at Ace Hardware and Luis worked up close and personal with customers as a Las Vegas cab driver. Through their different work experiences they learned how important the idea of putting the customer first was and how well it could pay off in successful business.
“We have a great team working with us here,” Audra said. “CJ Haro, Beth Marshall, and our newest employee Aaron Medina really get the idea and treat all our customers quickly, accurately, and with a smile.”
