A special ceremony was held on Tuesday, January 29, during halftime at the Lady Pirates basketball game versus Boulder City. The ceremony celebrated the recent achievement of the MVHS Football Pirates winning the 2007 NIAA Nevada Class 3A Football Championship.
The halftime ceremony included a rousing standing ovation for Nevada’s Team as the Pirates were recognized by coaches, administrators, and fans and championship rings were presented to the State Championship players and coaches.

Ahh the “Bling”! Matt Newton and Jake Pearce show off their MVHS State Football Championship rings (inset) which they received in a ceremony at Tuesday evenings basketball game. Football players sold State Championship sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats in order to help with the cost of their rings. |

The rings, which were created by Jostens Championship Ring Department, were one of the largest rings that can be designed. The rings prominently feature a stone-studded M with Moapa Valley High School around the outside.
Each player was recognized as the voice of the Pirates, Jess Campbell, announced the championship roster and coaches courtside.
