| New Veterans Services At Mesa View Regional Hospital |
 |
|
Mesquite, NV- Mesa View Regional Hospital and the Veterans Administration are excited to announce a new service that allows veterans in need of lab work to have it drawn right here in Mesquite. In the past, a veteran might travel to Las Vegas one day just to have lab work done and then have to make the long drive again once the physician received the results. With this new service, the veteran can accomplish the same tasks with just one trip to Las Vegas.
When lab tests are ordered by the veteran’s physician, the veteran will call the VA lab at 702-636-3013 to have the lab orders sent to Mesa View Regional Hospital. Veterans must call the VA lab before going to Mesa View for lab services. Then the veteran can go to Mesa View at 1299 Bertha Howe Avenue in Mesquite any Thursday between 8 am and noon to have the ordered specimens collected. Those specimens are sent to the VA main laboratory in Las Vegas for processing, and results sent to the physician as soon as the tests are completed.
Bob Barquist, the Laboratory Director at Mesa View and Commander of local VFW post #7385, says “There is a real need for this service in our community. Our local veterans will be relieved to know that they don’t have to go to the big city as often.”
Any veterans with questions or in need of further information can call Bob at the hospital at 345-4282, or the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System Lab Manager, Mike Cabana, at 702-636-3013 extension 3201.
