Injury Causes Barber Shop Closure

	Tim Robison Moapa Valley Progress It has certainly not escaped the notice of any of the men in town who are in need of a haircut that Dalley’s Barbershop in Overton has been closed since last week. The closing of the shop is the result of an unfortunate accident that befell the proprietor in the afternoon of Monday, February 11. According to Dalley’s daughter-in-law, Shay Dalley,		Bevan Dalley is seen through the window of Dalley’s Barber Shop plying his trade. Dalley, a regular fixture of downtown Overton, injured his left hand last week and has had to close his shop indefinitely. The photo was taken in the evening during the big flood of 2005.
	Bevan Dalley was at his home in the afternoon doing some carpentry work. In the process of cutting lumber, to be used as a baseboard, Dalley caught his pinky, ring, and middle finger of his left hand severing the fingers below the base. Dalley was able to remove his hand but not until the saw had severely torn into his index finger. Dalley was able to sufficiently pull himself together after the incident to call his wife Kathy. She contacted their son Corry Dalley who rushed his father to UMC in Las Vegas. Dalley also had had the presence of mind to pick up what remained of his severed digits, put them on ice, and take them with him to the hospital. Unfortunately, the damage done by the saw was too severe to allow surgeons to reattach the fingers. According to Shay Dalley it is up in the air as to whether her father-in-law can or will return to the barbershop. She informed the Progress that he is still in the process of working through the shock of losing part of his hand. Shay Dalley expressed for the family their appreciation to the community for the outpouring of concern and support that the family has received.
