Local Pizza Hangout Closes After One Year
By Rachel Brandes
Moapa Valley Progress

Don Luigi’s Pizza in Overton closed their doors for good on Friday, February 8; just one year and two months to the day of their grand opening.

Co-owners Louis and Audra Espinosa and Don Maher opened the shop last year and provided a new style of pizza to Moapa Valley. With a shop full of video games Don Luigi’s soon became a popular hangout among local teens. There were plenty of video games and good eats to keep them busy.

During the company’s annual meeting in mid-January, co-owner Don Maher announced that he was no longer interested in being a partner in the business and resigned. This left the Espinosas in a bit of a bind in the financial end of things.

“We wanted to stay open but with the lack of partnership and the slow economy it just wasn’t possible,” they explained. The doors officially closed and the games were removed within a few days. Since then the Espinosas have been trying to tie up the loose ends. The Espinosas explained that they truly enjoyed serving the community and working with their employees. “We were very sad to close the business,” said Audra. “This is something we will miss.”

There is a business opportunity here if anyone is interested. The Espinosas encourage interested parties to contact them to learn more. You can contact Louis by calling 702-301-1122.
