| Mack Lyon Student Attends Solo And Ensemble Festival | ||

Rachel Brandes Moapa Valley Progress The Solo and Ensemble Festival was recently held at Clark High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Local youth, Pace Maughan was the only middle school student from Moapa Valley to attend the Festival. Twelve year old Maughan is a seventh grader at Mack Lyon Middle School in Overton.At the Festival he played an arrangement of Fur Elise by Beethoven. His performance earned him a 2 rating, which is an excellent rating. Maughan has always been enthusiastic about the performing arts. He has played the violin |

since kindergarten and is currently learning the bugle He has been playing the trumpet since sixth grade and is a member of the middle school jazz band. Maughan has been clogging for the past four years and singing all his life. He has performed at the Moapa Valley Arts Council season opener for the past two years along side his brother Tanner who is currently in the eighth grade at Mack Lyon Middle School. Pace is the son of Tom and Robin Maughan of Logandale. |
