| Lyon Dance Team Takes Second In Competition | |||

| Rachel Brandes Moapa Valley Progress Submitted Mar. 5, 2008 The Mack Lyon Middle School Locomotion Dance Team competed on Saturday, February 23 at Las Vegas High School and walked away with a second place trophy and four spirit sticks. dance division in which she placed seventh. “Danielle competed in a field of very talented and competitive young women,” stated team advisor Tracy Rodgers. The team earned themselves four spirit sticks by demonstrating their outstanding spirit while at the competition. The trophy and spirit sticks will all be proudly displayed at the middle school. Dance team members include Kaylee Barlow, Shealyn Belcher, Aubrey Benson, Janelle Chalfant, Shannon Cooper, Ansley Cox, Abbey Henson, Ashley Henson, Alex Jones, Nicole Leavitt, Pamela Meacham, Alex Nelson, Delacy Peterson, Danielle Pray, Skyler Simmons, Sarah Turner, Karla Villezcas, Ashley Winnefeld, and team manager Sydney Widdison. “I am disappointed that we didn’t get first, but I am so proud of the girls because I know they did their very best!” stated Widdison of the team. The girls wished to thank their parents, friends and family for all of their support over the past year. Team advisor, Meagan Brammer explains that the girls will perform in a review in mid-March. The date and time is yet to be announced. The review will take place in the middle school gym. |
