pounds in donations with a goal of 1200 by the end of March. As of the morning of the open house the total had jumped to over 1400 pounds. That was mid morning! “This is the most ever donated here during the Curves’ annual food drive.” said Mabry.

After the final collection Mabry donated all items collected to Cappalappa Family Resource Center. Curves has already donated all diaper and formula donations as they have been dropped off as CFRC has expressed an immediate need for those items. “They did an awesome job, those girls are great!” stated Cappalappa’s Penny Vallone.

Last year, Curves members all over the world donated 11 million pounds of food for local food banks. This years goal for Curves is to collect 15 million pounds internationally. Owner Deborah Mabry has been busy providing a healthy environment for the ladies of Moapa Valley to stay fit. Mabry is working non-stop these days with the recent departure of employee Lari Markenstein. Markenstein had been with Curves working the morning shift and recently had an opportunity that she couldn’t pass up.

At Curves women preform a 30- minute circuit workout. During which there are some fun and games along the way. Games were set up between stations just to keep things lively. Badmitton, frisbee, bowling, fishing, yahtzee, and tic tac toe just to name a few. The woman seemed to have a great time while working out.

Each month Curves holds a drawing for a free shirt as well as prizes for up to three winner for most pounds and inches lost within that month.

There are many great machines in Curves for women to work out on as well as a stretching area. In this area there is a television set which runs a video showing the new equipment available which Curves could earn. It also explains how to use each machine.

Curves also has the Curvaceous clothing line for sale. Mabry explains that the line of clothing changes giving the ladies a variety at all times.

The ladies of Curves are proud to have lost a total of 4,217 pounds and inches so far. Keep up the good work!
