Southern Nevada is putting on its running shoes this April for an all new 10K race held in conjunction with the Clark County Fair. Valley Heights by Southwest Homes presents the 1st annual Logandale Cowboy Run & Family Walk, a 10K race to benefit Candlelighters and Safe Nest of Nevada.
Runners from Nevada and other Southwest states will start on Saturday, April 12, and finish at the Valley Heights model homes and run a scenic course around Bowman Lake and the foothills overlooking the Clark County Fairgrounds.
The Logandale Cowboy Run, held the weekend of the state’s largest county fair, is a chance for competitive and casual runners of all types and their families to enjoy a refreshing run through the picturesque natural surroundings of Logandale.
After the race, participants, friends and family can enjoy a fun-filled day at the county fair. Proceeds from the race will go to benefit Safe Nest and Candlelighters childhood cancer foundation, and Safe Nest domestic violence prevention and victims charities. For race information and registration go to www.runnercard.com.
The Clark County Fair & Rodeo is one of Southern Nevada’s most famous community events. Since 1965 the fair has grown to become one of the state’s most popular annual events. The annual celebration features a great diversity of traditional American county fair entertainment including a rodeo, carnival, concerts, barbecue, cook-offs, livestock shows, art exhibits and much more. The great variety of entertainment has made the annual Clark County Fair one of the community’s most beloved family events, bringing generations of Nevadans together for old-fashioned fun and great times. For more information on the annual Clark County Fair go to www.ccfair.com.
The race begins and ends at Valley Heights, the new community from Southwest Homes. Valley Heights offers home-buyers a refreshing alternative to the high prices and small yards of Las Vegas. A traditional family neighborhood capturing the small-town charm of Logandale, Valley Heights offers spacious estate homes on oversized home sites. Designed to complement the wide-open spaces of the surrounding mountains, the homes at Valley Heights are considerably larger than similarly-priced new homes in Las Vegas, from 2700 to over 5000 square feet, and each home is built on a spacious 1/2 acre lot. New homes at Valley Heights priced from the high $300s. For more information call 334 - 9080 or go to valleyheights.net.
