A multi-family sale of too many great items to list was held at the home of the late Marie Runnion on Saturday, April 19. Runnion’s daughter, Jana Ward along with friends decided to take the opportunity to raise funds for the Relay for Life during their huge sale. They called the sale the “Empty Cup for Cancer” sale.

Attitude Coffee Company was involved. With a donation to the Relay for Life, donors were able to pick one of Runnion’s coffee cups to have filled with a fresh cup of ‘gratitude blend’. Terry also made Latte’s for those with a taste for the sweeter side.
The sale took nearly a week to set up and opened to the public at 7:00 a.m. “I expect we will be here well past 3:00 p.m. today,” explained Ward. “We will stay until the crowds dwindle.”
There were so many items at this sale it would be difficult to list. Lets just say there was definitely something for everyone and nobody was seen leaving empty handed.
The Ladies of New Hope Christian Church had baked for the sale with all proceeds to be donated directly to the Relay for Life. Laila Kacher of New Hope Christian Church was impressed with how quickly the items sold. “We are almost out,” she said within the first two hours of opening.
The ladies involved explained that they would like to run the “Empty Cup for Cancer” as an annual fundraiser for the Relay for Life.
“We will have to start early next year asking for gently used coffee cups as donations,” stated Terry.
The Relay for Life will be held at the Moapa Valley High School track on Friday, April 25 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
