New Splash Pad Opens In Moapa

The official ribbon cutting of the Moapa Splash Pad took place on Saturday morning under beautiful sunny skies. After four months of construction this new Moapa attraction is sure to be heavily used. Over 40 children attended the ribbon cutting and enjoyed playing in this new Moapa attraction.

Bowler Students Celebrate May Day

Grant Bowler Elementary School held it’s “80 some odd” May Day Dance on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Vice Principal Pledger Solomon announced to attendees they weren’t quite sure but know this annual dance has taken place for “80 some odd years”.... See full story
BYU Singers Perform In Moapa Valley

The Moapa Valley Arts Council brought the Brigham Young University Singers to Moapa Valley to perform for residents on Monday, April 28 at the Ron Dalley Theatre. Providing intermission entertainment were the girls from St. John’s Ballet Folklorica.

The BYU Choir consists of approximately 45 multi-talented students from all over the United States.

Los Lupes Overton Location Approved By MVTAB

The Moapa Valley Town Advisory Board (MVTAB) heard a request at a meeting held Wednesday, April 30, regarding plans for a new restaurant to be built near downtown Overton. The applicants, Guadalupe and Maria Martinez plan to build and operate a Los Lupes Mexican Restaurant on a 1.2 acre parcel located at Moapa Valley Blvd and Catherine Avenue in Overton. PIC Thanks Tortoise Fencing Volunteers

Partners In Conservation (PIC) held a barbecue dinner party on Friday, May 2 at the Logandale Fairgrounds. The party was held to recognize and show appreciation for the small army of volunteers that participated in the Desert Tortoise Fencing Project.
