Clark County Parks and Recreation has welcomed a new Recreation Cultural Specialist II to Moapa Valley. You may have seen him around at various events. His name is Dion Lee and he has been working in the Moapa Valley for the past four months.

Moapa Valley is Lee’s first experience with Clark County Parks and Rec and his is enjoying his experience. Still living in Las Vegas, he makes the commute in daily. “I love the drive,” he said. Lee explained that being from the “big city” (Los Angeles), it would take some time to adjust to small town life but thinks Moapa Valley would be a great place to settle down and raise his two kids. “People here are so warm and welcoming,” he adds.

Lee has been busy keeping programs running and meeting all of the valley participants. Over Spring Break, Lee ran the Sports Camp which consisted of basic fundamentals in Basketball, Football, Soccer and Track and Field events. He is planning an “All Valley Track Meet” which is scheduled to take place on May 31.

Lee will be looking for everyone to come out and compete. Ages 5 to adult will be welcome to compete in running and jumping events. Relay teams will be another fun one, couples relays, teacher relays, moms relays. You get the picture.

Becoming involved in all things Moapa Valley, Lee tells us that the restrooms at the Logandale Sports Complex are soon to be completed. “It will help better serve the community needs,” he said. The restroom building will also consist of a snack bar/kitchen area to keep everyone happy.

Welcome to Moapa Valley Dion!
