To the Editor:
On Tuesday, May 6, Moapa Valley High School was holding its annual M-Day event at the Logandale Park. The plan was to flood the park so that students could play a number of games and get soaked while doing it. When I arrived at the park there was some water on the ground but clearly not enough for the likes of two hundred high strung teenagers.
Unfortunately the County didn’t have any more time left on their water share so they had to close the irrigation line before the park was flooded.
Well, it didn’t take but two phone calls and about twenty minutes before water was pouring out of the irrigation line and local fire trucks were spraying the students down.
Events like this are what make Moapa Valley a great place to live and an even better place to serve as a school administrator. Thanks to Matt Nelson and Shaun Mayo of the local fire squad for coming out and making the kids scream; and also a thanks to Todd Robison, Lana Hardy, and Scott Millington for finding us some irrigation water. A special thanks goes out to Bryant Robison for letting us use some of his irrigation water, it was a hit with the kids.
It’s people like this and so many others that drop what they are doing and make things happen that allow great activities for our youth to take place. Thank You.

To the Editor:
We live in a small town and yet I see big town things happening around they valley. On just one block there have been two roof tops tagged, one on a new shed next to a church, and the other of a house. That is just baffling to me that someone (or ones) has had the nerve to tag somebody’s rooftop.
I happen to live on this block and on Thursday May 1, someone decided to steal my satellite radio system, and a utility knife out of my van. I just could not believe it, and to top it off when I went around to my neighbors to alert them and make sure they are locking their cars at night I found out that one of them had also had stuff taken from their vehicle as well. Some one took maybe a few CD’s and can of old tobacco and left the car keys and debit card that were all sitting together alone.
I am sorry for the people who feel it is necessary to steal or vandalize other peoples property to fell good about themselves or to prove something to others. I hope that they know that what goes around comes around and sooner later it will all catch up with them.
