| Perkins Elementary Celebrates May Day |

Ute V. Perkins Elementary School celebrated its annual May Day Dance on Thursday, May 8 with an evening of fun and laughter. Music and Art teacher Mr. Vincent Dasal provided some new and interesting performances to go along with the traditional May Pole Dance. In celebration of May Day, Perkins held a Spring Dance Festival in which students were given the opportunity to showcase their talents.

The Moapa Valley High School (MVHS) was selected last week as one of six new Empowerment Schools in the Clark County School District (CCSD). The official CCSD announcement on Wednesday, May 7, made MVHS the first CCSD Empowerment school to be chosen from a rural community. | New Exhibit To Open At Lost City Museum |

The Lost City Museum in Overton will be open to the public free admission on Sunday to celebrate International Museum Day. Several new exhibits and attractions will be on display at the museum

| MVWD Board Approves Landmark Water Agreement |

The Moapa Valley Water District (MVWD) Board of Directors last week approved a landmark agreement with the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) dealing with the management of local water resources. Mack Lyon Middle School Principal Dave Wilson has accepted the position as principal at the Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite. Wilson shared the news with Mack Lyon staff on Tuesday, May 6.
